Saturday, November 12th Gales of November Event

at the Duluth Entertainment & Convention Center (DECC) in Canal Park, Duluth.

What began as a few divers getting together for dinner to share shipwreck pictures and videos has grown to be a premier regional event at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) along the waterfront attracting numerous enthusiasts.

The event kicks off with a Friday evening Gala Reception at t
he Corps of Engineers Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center sponsored by Lake Superior Magazine. This dazzling event is held for sponsors, speakers, exhibitors and Gales ticket holders.

The highlight of a full schedule of Saturday speakers will be a luncheon presentation, 'Building Ships for the Great Lakes,' by Patrick J. O'Hern, vice president and general manager of Bay Shipbuilding Co., Sturgeon Bay, Wis.

Speakers and presentations this year will examine new shipwreck discoveries; Aerial Lift Bridge centennial; Apostle Islands and Split Rock lighthouses and presentations by authors of newly released books on regional and maritime history.

There will be retail, information booths and a silent auction throughout the day. There will be a live auction of authentic nautical artifacts

To cap off the day, sit back and enjoy a buffet Dinner while listening to the famed and talented folk singer Charlie Maguire who preserves maritime and regional history in song.
