2:00 – 4:00pm – Behind the Scenes Tour of the Great Lakes Aquarium – 353 Harbor Drive, Duluth, MN
Join Jay Walker, the Assistant Director of the Great Lakes Aquarium, and members of his staff, for a special guided tour to learn how the northern Minnesota aquarium operates including water purification and treatment as well as animal food preparation and daily maintenance of exhibits.  After the tour, enjoy the public levels of the aquarium at a discounted admission price.   

2:00 – 4:00pm – Behind the Scenes Tour of the Lake Superior Maritime Collections – Jim Dan Hill Library at the University of WI-Superior, 907 North 19^th Street, Superior, WI
Join University of WI-Superior Library Archivist, Laura Jacobs, and members of her staff, for a special tour of the unique resources that tell the story of maritime history and activities relating to communications surrounding Lake Superior and the upper Great Lakes.  Metered street parking is required.

6:00 – 8:00pm – Gales of November Opening Gala Reception – Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center, 600 South Lake Avenue, Duluth, MN
Come join the fun and celebrate Great Lakes maritime history at the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center, located at the foot of the Aerial Lift Bridge in historic Canal Park.  Gales of November attendees can pick up their name badges, enjoy a self-guided tour of the Marine Museum, and sample some good eats graciously provided by the evening’s reception sponsor, Lake Superior Magazine.
